African Denim

Denim and Africa are now a standard. Invented here by us at Ocacia as we make sure African expression is represented in the world of denim. Jeans, unlike dresses and other clothing apparel, were invented in the industrial era, and made by those processes. Jeans do not, like other garments, lend themselves to being made one by one and definitely not on a standard sewing machine. This is why people who make jeans--only make jeans. They not making dresses, jeans, and caps in the same factory. And if you want to make jeans and they not look like your mom made them for you, you need a lot of specialist equipment.

Straight out of Ghana and Head of the embroidery department and responsible for training new embroidery designers and tailors.

Betelihem Zelealem

Betelihem is one of the original founders of Ocacia. Originally from Ethiopia but based in South Africa she created the Ocacia factory and Ocacia quality standards.

Salam Yusuf

Another Ethiopian based in South Africa, Salam is part of our fabric sourcing team that travels up and down getting exotic fabric for us.

Khalid Kwame Shahadah

Our youngest team member is being groomed for the boss position someday. Current jobs are modelling and holding lights

LiLi Nesh

Straight out of Ethiopia our cameraperson also works for Halaqah South Africa. Shy but we got her on camera.
